Jerez and the Mysteries of a Noble and Generous Wine
The Brazilian Association of Sommeliers – Rio de Janeiro will present a Master Class and a Jerez tasting in November 8th 2021. In this tasting, the characteristics that distinguish Jerez from other wines and that makes it unique will be presented. It will be pointed out the particularities of the soil of Jerez, vine training, grape varieties, the three large Jerez families (Generous, Generous Liquor and Natural Sweets), the biological and oxidative aging, the Solera System and the particularities of the wineries where the Jerez is born. The Master Class will be presented by Germán Alarcón-Martín. Mr Alarcón-Martín is a Spaniard from Granada, Andalusia, oenophile who has participated in several courses and tastings in Jerez, in various editions of Vinoble (International Salón de los Vinos Nobles) focuses exclusively on fortified wines from around the world. He was executive president of SBAV-MG and has a particular interest in dessert wines in general and, specifically, in those from Jerez. He is a Consultant and organizer of Enotourism experiences in Brazil and around the world.
The tasting will include the following wines: Biological Real Tesoro Fino (Marqués del Real Tesoro), Oxidative Jerez Oloroso Don José (Sánchez Romate), Generous Liquor Solera 1847 Jerez Cream D.O. (González Byass), and Natural Sweet El Candado (Valdespino).
