Film: The Mystery of Palo Cortado + Sherry Tasting

The Edinburgh Cinema Club celebrates the start of International Sherry week with a special screening of José Luis López-Linares' 2015 documentary “Sherry & the Mystery of Palo Cortado”.

Following the historic journey Sherry has taken in the last few hundred years, the movie offers an extraordinary glimpse at the production process and cultural significance of this brilliantly golden liquor, and explores the mysterious origins of Palo Cortado. What exactly makes Palo Cortado so revered? Find out in this engrossing and evocative documentary.

And, at 6pm, before the film begins, attendees are invited to participate in a masterclass led by a Sherry expert where they will sample three different sherries: Tio Pepe Fino, Harveys Signature 12yr old Cream Sherry, and, of course, a Palo Cortado, Peninsula by Lustau.
