Competition Objectives:

To boost knowledge of the character and quality of the wines of the Denominación de Origen Jerez-Xères-Sherry and Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda and promote their consumption through original and innovative business initiatives within the framework of International Sherry Week, which will take place worldwide from 6-12 November 2017.

Organisers:

The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Jerez de la Frontera and the Confederation of Business of the Province of Cádiz with the collaboration of the Consejo Regulador of the Denominación de Origen Jerez-Xères-Sherry and Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

Participants:

All those whose events have been published on the official website of International Sherry Week: www.sherryweek.wine

The Prize:

There is just one prize which will consist of a selection of wines from the Denominación de Origen Jerez-Xères-Sherry and Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, valued at 1,000€ along with a diploma accrediting the winner of the competition for the best entrepreneurial event during International Sherry Week 2017.

Judging panel and evaluation criteria:

The events will be judged by a panel drawn from The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Jerez de la Frontera and the Confederation of Business of the Province of Cádiz and the Consejo Regulador of the Denominación de Origen Jerez-Xères-Sherry and Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

The most important aspects of their evaluation of events will be:

• Originality and innovation
• Business initiative
• Creation of added value
• Number of participants
• Media coverage (measured on social media with the hashtag #sherryweek)
• Market opportunities

Acceptance of the rules:

Participation in the Competition for the best event of International Sherry Week 2017 implies full acceptance of the rules and the evaluation of the judging panel whose decision shall be final and it is up to contestants to interpret and abide by them.

Participation in the Competition for the best entrepreneurial event of International Sherry Week 2017 implies full acceptance of the conditions and legal notice published in the website www.sherryweek.wine.

The panel will publish the name of the winner of the Competition in the website www.sherryweek.wine on the 27th November 2017.
