While Sherry Week has come to a close, it is clear there is still a lot of exciting inspiration being drawn from the wines of Jerez.

From classics like the Adonis to the unbelievably innovative Cartujano, a frothy and lightly sweet cocktail made with Manzanilla, Oloroso, Cognac, chamomile, egg, fresh lime juice, Agnostura bitters, and housemade chicha morada, there is something for everyone.

Wine Spectator published a new study out of Australia showing that those who suffer from type 2 diabetes and consume moderate amounts of fortified wines like Sherry or white wines had a lower risk of diabetic retinopathy, a vision problem brought on by diabetes, than those who drink red wine. Sherry is the gift that keeps on giving.
