Sherry & Shapas in the Netherlands

Sherry Wines was the star of the show at the highly acclaimed Gastronomie fair in Jaarbeurs Utrecht, Holland with a brand new image launched, Sherry seminars, tastings and special guest presenter Paola Medina Sheldon of Williams and Humbert.

Sherry is back!

Our new Marketing Agency Alterego in Holland, recently presented Sherry Wines at the Gastronomie event, consisting of two days of tastings with a broad range of Sherry Wines from various producers. In addition the team launched the new image campaign for Sherry in Holland with the original tag lines "Rooted in Life. Sherry, very unique wines from Jerez’'.

Williams & Humbert enologist Paola Medina travelled to The Netherlands as special guest presenter at The Female Touch event, leading an inspiring workshop titled "New Sherry Making Techniques, Sherry 1.0 versus Sherry 2.0".

Through a fantastic exchange of products with various other stands, including Saborpuro, Traiteur de Paris, Extract BV and L'amuse, Alterego introduced "sherry + tapas = shapas" to the Dutch gastronomic world. An instant hit with top chefs and food & wine professionals. The high expectations for this unique wine from Jerez were palpable as there was bountiful experimentation with new menu ideas, leading to the discovery of an assortment of new #sherryshapas combinations.

Adding to the fantastic reception received at the fair, an innovative social media campaign has been launched in Holland with #sherrylovers invited to post their own Sherry + Tapas combos, known as #sherryshapas.
