Lunya Lights Up Liverpool and Manchester

Lunya, the award winning Spanish deli and restaurant from Liverpool has recently opened its second branch in Manchester, creating two great Sherry Spots for the North West of England.

Lunya is an homage to Catalunya and Spain. A proudly independent and multi-award winning deli, restaurant and bar, they are completely passionate about exceptional Catalan and Spanish food and drink, as well as the whole culture of eating out in Spain. They are also Sherrylovers and have been involved in International Sherry Week in the UK for the last two years.

Their Liverpool restaurant has been nominated the 'Good Food Guide North West Restaurant of the Year' for two years running (2015 & 2016) and they have the UK’s largest online Spanish deli with over 1000 different products. Every one is the very best in it’s class, with over 40 Catalan and Spanish cheeses, Spain’s very best wines, sherries, cavas and spirits as well as a superb collection of jamón – all hand carved fresh from the bone. With Spanish twists on local dishes, such as Catalan Scouse and Catalan Hotpot, the food is inventive and flavoursome.

With a wide range of sherries available by the glass, bottle or to take home from the deli, Lunya have hosted a variety of Sherry tastings and have a number of experts in house. If you are looking for a sherry to pair with a particular dish they're sure to be able to recommend a suitable sherry for your palate and budget.

The owners of Lunya, Peter and Elaine Kinsella, say it best "We want Lunya to be a place where anyone who loves good food and drink feels as though they belong. We want people to feel as comfortable when they are eating or drinking here as they would do at home. Like all great restaurants in Spain, we want to be a place where you can come dressed up or casual, however you want. Whether you are a binman, politician, pensioner, mums with babies, stockbroker, everyone belongs and people come here because we are all about the food and drink and a great social environment.

We strive for perfection, but as human beings never quite get there, as we always believe we can do better. We source the very best of everything we can – not a cliché, but a guiding force to everything we do, and we really mean it. We really do have the very best of everything food and drink wise from Spain – and continue to add anything we find which we think fits the bill. We source our fish, meat and vegetables from source, or as close to the source as possible, using local butchers, fishmongers and farmers who are either the best in the UK, or close to it and personally go to Spain to source pretty much everything we have."
